COVID-19 IMMUNIZATION TRAINING
The Georgia Department of Public Health Coastal Health District Chatham County Health Department has sent us an urgent plea for assistance administering COVID-19 vaccines. Students who have not been trained to administer injections may complete the attached online training program.
Students who are interested and able to volunteer should complete the training guides ( attached) from the Department of Public Health. Watch the videos, etc. and fill out the form. You will then be required to administer vaccines under observation before you can be signed off at the bottom of the form. Tammi Brown, the CCHD Nurse Manager on Eisenhower Drive is copied, as is Laurie Melhorn, Nurse Manager with the Bryan County Health Dept in Richmond Hill. Please notify the staff as you arrive and they will gladly arrange for you to be observed. An email to Nurse Brown or Nurse Melhorn before you attend would be appreciated as well. Please print out the forms and certificates of completion of each module to expedite the process. There are also good short videos on YouTube for how to give an IM injection in the arm we would suggest you review beforehand.
